damn

20 minutes late to get my post in on the first of the year. i suppose i could back date it, but that would so be cheating.

nothing fabulous to report. i suppose i could put in a mini-review of my year.

i began my first year of marriage with philip. has overall been a fabulous experience, but much different that i thought it would be. just don't take fabulous to mean easy. cause it's not!

i became a g4m3r grl. i am a self-professed world of warcraft addict who is weening her addiction little by little. i hope to be fully off WoW by next christmas /wink

i lost my craptastic job at the house of representatives working for the worlds biggest jackass. i never thought i would be happy to hear the words, "you're fired."

we adopted the most adorable little kitty ever. he's as cuddly and sweet as anything. and he plays fetch. score.

i got a job at priority health. i'm still there and i'm loving it. i am selling a costly government health care program, but i get to talk to old people all day and pretend like i know something. the people. the people. they love me.

also. my manager loves me. she and a couple other managers got together to find a job for me. (i'm a temp.) they really really want to keep me around when my contract is up. small business ftw?

finally, phil and i are moving today. nothing huge, we are just shifting from our current apt (lease is up and they don't allow pets) into his late grandmother's condo. just until they sell. but it's nice to ge through our stuff, throw out old junk and pack it up nice and neat.

goals for this year?

lol. i usually don't make new year's resolutions for a couple reasons. first i'm a rebel and don't care much for going with the flow. but mostly because i know they will just get broken. such is life i suppose. but that aside, i shall put forth a few goals i have in mind.

-lose 15 lbs. this is actually a very reasonable goal. i've lost 20 lbs and gained 15 lbs since i came home from Spain in may 2003. so, here's to getting rid of the extra chub.
-live on a budget. phil and i have been very bad about keeping our budget. while we do not use credit and we are live below our income, we are not saving as much as we could or paying off as many of our student loans as we could. so, dave, we are trying your envelope system again. hopefully with better results.
-keep house. this has a lot to do with my WoW addiction. but i'd like to keep a cleaner, neater, prettier looking house.
-cook more. see above. i want to try to make sack lunches, cook yummy dinners, and therefore also eat healthier.
-more friends! i love my friends so dearly but am horrible about showing it. i don't keep in contact with my friends and want to do so much better this year.
-God. my relationship that matters the most has grown the least. i'm no where near where i used to be nor where i'd like to be.

so those are pretty big goals. if i can even attempt them a little i'll feel successful, i suppose. baby steps, right?

so, happy new year, all. i hope your 2005 was blessed and that your 2006 will see more. love love!

Glad to hear that the move to the condo went well...and best of luck as you start off with your new resolutions for this year. Sorry I was unable to see you when you were in town, but I hope you had a wonderful time back in Holland. :)

This was a nice entry. :) I agree with you, I don't like setting my clock back either, because I think it's cheating.
And I also need to work on my relationship with God. I love Him so much, but I feel as though I take Him for granted so much also. Must fix that.

Happy New Year!
